Vintage Cravat Tack, Cornucopia Heart

Black Tulle Rhinestone-spangled Jabot
Brilliant Czech rhinestones spangle two layers of black tulle, underlayed by black semi-transparent chiffon. The neck piece is unlined chiffon, edged with a rough-cut inch or so of the tulle engathered. Fobbishness at its most outrageous! And of course it will look exquisite on a feminine neck as well. A design inspired by the Frank Lloyd Wright- carved blocks of the Ennis Brown House in Hollywood Hills, which were inspired by Aztec design– I present this architectural border enlivened by anime colors. Or try the metallics, which create their effect without metallic inks. The verdgris and rust present ten subtly different cards on one sheet: theeffect is spread over the sheet as a whole. I am quite pleased with the conceit!

Vintage home made teddy bear 1940s-60′s
This tubby little lady is crafted from cotton flannel and I think she’s stuffed with kapok, since she weighs in pretty hefty. She was a warm tan; now she shows fading in many places, most noticeably on the top of her big solid head. She has glass eyes. Her yellow flannel paws are in very nice shape and so are all her joints– which are the real thing. her head turns, too! I have never seen a home sewing pattern that looks quite like her. I think that she was made from the remains of a commercial bear. She’s beautifully…
